Emma Williamson of The Fulcrum Agency joins architect Jill Birt and Jen Lowe of Ohlo Studios to consider what’s enough money, enough design and enough stuff.

Emma Williamson

Emma is a co-founder and Partner at TheFulcrum.Agency and has nearly thirty years’ experience working in practice and as an advocate for social issues related to the profession.

Emma holds Degrees in Architecture and Interior Design and in 2022 was named a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects in recognition of her contribution to the profession beyond architectural practice. Emma is committed to expanding design-related conversation beyond the architecture profession, and to breaking down barriers for others to contribute ideas.

Emma maintains a connection with academia through her role as Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University. Her written work appears in national and international publications, and she is regularly invited to present to the profession, government and public on topics such as design, gender equity, leadership and practice management.

Jen Lowe

Jen Lowe is an interior architect and the founder of award-winning design practice, Ohlo Studio. Jen’s passion for the built environment is informed by a creative background that includes art, floristry and styling. Ohlo Studio is a cross-disciplinary design practice with expertise across scales and project types. Hospitality precincts, family homes, public art and object design form a body of work characterised by an artistic, ideas-driven approach. Every project seeks to build the character and quality of place, and space, for businesses, individuals and communities; feeding financial and social benefit to clients and beyond.

Jill Birt

Jill Birt is a an architect working mostly on residential projects. Jill designs at all scales, from small renovations through to new houses. She is committed to designing homes that support the lifestyles of their owners and respond sensitively to their location, and has designed several coastal properties in regional Western Australia. Prior to studying architecture, Jill was a musician.
