Kate FitzGerald

Kate FitzGerald is an architect and is founder of Whispering Smith, a staunchly feminist architecture firm working across residential and commercial projects. Kate and her team are champions for millennial housing, sustainable architecture, local craft and friendly minimalist design. Whispering Smith’s House A and House B in Scarborough have become a case study for best-practice urban infill in Perth. Kate is also the founder of New Resident, upending the WA property market with affordable, architect-designed homes.

Matt Delroy-Carr

Matt Delroy-Carr is the founder of MDC Architects and is focused on residential architecture that enhances liveability through fundamental passive design principles. He is currently developing a range of small house plans that can be purchased by people seeking to build sustainable, affordable homes on small blocks. Matt was named Emerging Architect of the Year for 2022 in the WA Architecture Awards.

Jimmy Thomson

Jimmy Thomson is a director of MJA, a highly-awarded architecture practice with studios in Perth and Melbourne creating happy, healthy buildings that drive positive change in the built environment. Jimmy has worked on residential projects at all scales. His recently completed home, ‘Jimmy’s House’, completed in association with Iota and Studio Roam, is an exemplar for good infill design and has been widely published. It received the top award for single residential design at this year’s WA Architecture Awards.
