Fremantle Tours is partnering with Fremantle Design Week to host four, specially designed walking tours on the weekend of 15th and 16th October, 2022. 

Everything around us has been designed. Good design helps us live happier and healthier lives, and bad design can be catastrophic. Walk with us while we point out examples of great design in our home town of Fremantle, which is really the design hub of Western Australia (and not just in our opinion!).

Join the Design Lives Here Retail Walk at 11am. Freo is Perth’s original outdoor shopping centre – we’ll take you to some stores you might not have been to before, where you’ll hear about specialist products, meet the owners and maybe pick up a souvenir. In between we’ll point out the design spaces and places that make Fremantle unique.

Or come come along in the afternoon for the Design Lives Here Hospitality Walk at 3pm – visit restaurants and bars designed by awarded local architects and interior designers and find a new favourite haunt.

Each tour runs on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th and will take around two hours. They’ll begin out the front of the new Fremantle Visitor Centre in Walyalup Koort – which happens to be a multi-award-winning building.

An outing with Michael and Lucy of Fremantle Tours is like being shown around a new city, by one of your oldest and most passionate friends.

You can expect to share lots of laughs, learn all about the history of Fremantle and listen to family stories, passed down through generations.

As a third generation Fremantle local, Michael has turned his love for the environment and people into a career, working as a tour guide across Western Australia. For the past five years, he has been taking people on tours through the beautiful South West, at the luxury El Questro resort in the East Kimberley and back home here in Perth.

Throughout her career, Lucy has worked at many iconic Fremantle venues, supplying locals with their favourite caffeinated beverages and the most friendly customer service. Her passion for the food and beverage industry makes her the resident café, bar and restaurant expert.
